Sports talker WEEI 93.7 has named veteran market sportscaster Kevin Winter as the new morning sports anchor for the "Dennis and Callahan" morning show. Winter, Norfolk,Mass native, has been with ESPN Radio in Bristol,CT since 2004. During that time he also anchored sports updates on now-defunct "ESPN 890"(2005-2009). In 2003, he was also part of the short-lived "Morning Press Box" on WUFC 1510(then Zone 1510) which replaced even shorter morning stint by the current WEEI nighttime host Mike Adams. Ironically, last month, both Winter and Adams auditioned for the morning sports anchor role which became vacant after WEEI veteran Jon Meterparel left the station on October 12. Winter's first official day on the job is this Monday(12/10).

Boston, MA – WEEI announced Thursday that Kevin Winter has been named morning sports anchor for Dennis & Callahan. Winter, a Norfolk, Massachusetts native, has deep Boston roots and over a decade of Boston sports radio experience, including working at 890 ESPN Radio and 1510 The Zone.
Winter, who has worked at ESPN Radio since 2004, has served in a variety of studio host capacities including National SportsCenter Anchor for all ESPN Radio shows including Mike and Mike in the Morning. Additionally, he has been the pre- and postgame host for ESPN's coverage of college football and basketball.

WAAF's morning personalities Lyndon "LB" Byer and Anthony "Spaz" Parziale were raised 80 ft up on boom cranes, where they lived on a platform suspended high in the sky for three full days in an effort to raise funds for The Greater Boston, Worcester County and New Hampshire Food Banks. For the past 20 years, the station’s personalities have enlisted themselves in various physically challenging stunts in an effort to engage listeners to support area food banks.
Executive turntable : Andrew Tartaglia has been named as General Sales Manager for active rocker WAAF 107.3/WKAF 97.7, effective December 17. Tartaglia, who has been a GSM at Clear Channel Hartford.
