WBZ's Lovell Dyett dead at 77
WBZ 1030 is reporting today the death of its longtime talkshow host Lovell Dyett at the age of 77. He suffered from kidney failure and passed away at a long-term care facility in Melrose.
Dyett has been with the station since 1971. He was Boston’s premiere black broadcaster, hosting talk shows on radio and television over the years. When his weekend WBZ show was eliminated as part of budget cuts in early 2009, the public outcry forced WBZ's management to reinstate it.
More on Dyett's life and career is on WBZ's website.
