New boss in charge of Entercom Boston

On Friday(9/17), Entercom announced realignment of its Boston cluster management with the appointment of new general manager of its four stations : WEEI 850, WRKO 680, WAAF 107.3 and WMKK 93.7/MikeFM. After two years of running a highly successful site, Tim Murphy adds on the duties of running day-to-day operations of Entrecom's Boston radio cluster. Boston, MA (September 17, 2010) – Entercom Boston today announced the appointment of Tim Murphy to the position of Vice President/ General Manager of Entercom Boston, Murphy will be reporting to Julie Kahn, Vice President/New England Market Manager. In his new role, Murphy will oversee all digital initiatives for Entercom Boston. Additionally, he will spearhead sales strategy and processes, day-to-day business operations and oversee engineering and IT operations on all radio initiatives. Murphy will also head up Entercom’s eCommerce and database marketing initiatives, including the popular and successful PERKs program for Entercom Boston.

Murphy assumes his new position after having served as Vice President/General Manager for for the past two years. In that role, he directed the aggressive expansion of WEEI content distribution across digital platforms. Under Tim’s direction unique visitors to grew over 173% in its first year since the re-launch and the WEEI Live mobile app has been downloaded by over 70,000 consumers on both the iPhone and Android platforms.

Before joining Entercom, Murphy worked at the Golf Channel as the Director of Sales for Digital Media. He also served as Vice President of Strategic Marketing for, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Boston Globe Media, and Brand Manager for Titleist & FootJoy Worldwide. He is a graduate of Hamilton College.
